Many of us have a hard time waking up in the morning. It’s not uncommon to snooze the alarm about a thousand times. In fact, it seems to be the trend lately. However, there are certain things you can to do feel better and wake up feeling fresher than usual.
Replace your daily cup of coffee with lemon water
Many people choose to start the day off with coffee. However, coffee is not the best beverage you could be drinking in the morning. It actually seems to be linked to various health issues, like raised blood pressure, insomnia, and other conditions.
The best thing you can do is decide to change your morning cup of coffee for a glass of lemon water. You’ll feel much better, and it’s much healthier for your body. It’s enough to drink one glass of it on an empty stomach. However, if what you want is maximize the effects, try to drink it throughout a long period of time. It’s also a great idea to drink it as a hot beverage. Whatever suits you best.
1. Anti-disease
Lemon water has amazing properties. It is highly anti-inflammatory because of the large amounts of vitamin C and iron enhancing properties it has. It also has anti-bacterial features, meaning it will be harder for you to catch things like a common cold. It’s a great immune system booster.
2. For your digestive system
Lemon water is also great for your digestive system, especially if you’re having trouble going to the bathroom. It’s known to be a natural laxative, because it kickstarts your bowel movements. Besides being laxative, it’s algo detoxing because of the vitamins and minerals it contains, that help get rid of toxins.
3. Balancing pH levels
Furthermore, lemon is surprisingly alkaline, though we tend to think it’s acidic. This means it balances pH levels. It’s beneficial because diseases tend to develop whenever pH levels are out of balance, so drinking lemon water can prevent all sorts of diseases.
4. Great for your skin
Drinking a cup of lemon water in the morning also helps improve your skin, especially if you suffer from conditions like acne or rashes. This is because of the vitamin C and the antioxidants it contains.
5. Hydration
We already knew we need water to stay hydrated, and adding some lemon to it actually improves hydration by adding electrolytes we need to start the day well. Plus, the lemon adds a nice taste to the water, which can cause you to want to drink more of it. Drinking more water obviously means more hydration.
6. Metabolism boost
It also boosts your metabolism, which, in other words, means it will help your weight loss. Especially when added to the digestive properties it has. And it can improve bad breath. What more can you ask for?
